What's the mouse all about?

When I was making my first home page (the 15-612 home page) back at CMU my senior year, I decided to throw in this picture to liven it up a bit. I had no access to a scanner so I couldn't scan anything personal in, but I did manage to find a picture of a very cute mouse deep within the computer club's GIF archives. My home page at CMU died soon after I graduated, but I decided to resurrect the mouse picture for my new page because I liked it so much.

By the way, don't you love this optical illusion background? It looks like the horizontal lines are at a slant but they're really completely flat. I made it by creating a square fade from green to white in PhotoStyler and then repeatedly sharpening and then blurring the image until over and under sampling resulted in this weird pattern.
